             Meeting Notes

Morley Parish Council – March meeting.

The replacement milestone has now been installed and looks fantastic.

The bus shelter on Quarry Lane has been damaged by Anti-Social Behaviour and the Post Box at the junction of Cloves Hill/Brackley Gate/Quarry Road has also been stolen. Please remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately by dialling 999.

The school are holding a Morley Derbyshire to Morley Australia triathlon.  There are a number of events being held by the school who want to get the whole parish involved.

After the Parish Council meeting Jim Campbell outlined arrangements so far for the Morley Gala on the 15th July.  It all sounds very exciting with various stalls and attractions already earmarked to attend.   We shall no doubt hear more from Jim in due course.   Anyone who would like to assist can attend the next meeting which will be immediately after April's Parish Council meeting.

The Morley Open Gardens is happening on the 1st and 2nd July.  Many gardens and allotments will be open throughout Morley with visitors able to buy a map to visit.  Tea and refreshments will also be on offer at locations throughout the village.  The map will also highlight toilet facilities.  This exciting venture has been arranged by Martin Jackson and is in aid of St Matthews Church. There is a meeting scheduled for Monday 24th April.  Contact 01332 883542.

EON appear to have taken down the toad crossing sign and street light on Lower Church Lane.  This is being followed up.

It was agreed to make a donation of £50 towards the Parish Magazine.

All parishioners are invited not only to attend and not only raise issues in the open meeting but also, subject to permission from the chairman, to express views on any matters being discussed.  www.morleyparishcouncil.co.uk.
