August 2014 - Burning Trade Waste

Recently, several residents have contacted the Parish Council to express concern about repeated bonfires/burning of trade waste (including animal bedding).

The Council is sympathetic to those concerned, and have offered advice as appropriate.

If you are affected by this, we would urge you to contact the Environmental health department at Erewash Borough Council at the time of the bonfire or as soon after as possible. Staff there will ask questions about the location, times, frequency etc., and decide whether a visit by their Pollution Officers would be appropriate.

Contact them direct on: 0845 9072244 extension 3820

A Champion in the Village

Imogen Rafferty, an 11 year old Morley Church Farm resident, has made the village proud by winning the Derbyshire Schools Golf Championship at Chevin course. She beat other contestants up to 18 years of age to win. She has a handicap of 32 and plays for the Elms Junior School and is a junior member of Breadsall Priory Golf Club. Needless to say she has made Helen and Steve, her parents very proud.

July 5th - 2014 Jazz on the Lawn

On the 5th July we were treated to an evening of music from The Paul Stephenson Jazz Group. They took us back to the '20s and up to the '50s with old favourites from the past, such as Me and my shadow and many others some of which enticed Yvonne and Fronk to get up and dance. Great time in good weather.
